About us

My name is Helen O’Neill and since my early childhood I have always enjoyed practical crafts. However, these soon mounted up and having filled many cupboards and walls, I decided to take a more practical approach and find myself a ‘useful’ hobby. Looking at my large collection of beaded jewellery, bead stringing seemed the obvious answer. And so with the aid of books, internet and lots of trial and error I launched myself into bead stringing.

Having spent many hours figuring things out and having spent a fortune on stuff that has never seen the light of day, I decided to start easybeading with the aim of encouraging (new) beaders to try my type of bead stringing. I also decided to make my workshops all inclusive with a guaranteed completed necklace at the end of the day. This way, beaders could discover bead stringing without having to invest in pliers, cutters and piles of beads.

Since then I have created regular new designs reflecting the season and current fashion colours. The designs incorporate various sizes, shapes and types of semi-precious stones and pearls to try out. Most designs use between 7 and 9 different beads.

All my necklaces are made using unusual beads not available in any bead shop and I am constantly looking out for new things to bead.

Soon I also hope to expand the easybeading workshops to include the ancient art of Chinese knotting to create beaded necklaces. I am currently experimenting with different colour cords and focal beads to create a more contemporary look.

I am also a current member of:
The Beadworkers Guild
The Bead Society of Great Britain
The Association for Contemporary Jewellery
